I used pictures of both Ewan McGregor and Sir Alec Guinness, sketching the outline and basic shape of the face from McGregor but using Guinness as reference to add in wrinkles. I wanted it to be of Obi-wan Kenobi a few years into his exile on Tatooine, looking quiet, pensive and a bit sad, and genuinely looking like Ewan aging into Guinness. Because of the mixed references I suppose, it isn't quite as realistic as I'd hoped, but I'm still fairly content with the face.

The background depresses me, though. I spent forever on it but the best thing about it are the cheesy lens flares I added out of a frustrated need for something to be pretty. I think it's the outlines that do the most damage, but I can't really remove them at this point without having to practically start over, and I've re-started the background so many times it seems pointless to try again.

Lovely shadows on the face and cliffs - and hey, the sun really /does/ flare when it goes down and rises here, so Tatooine would be the same look, just doubled. I'd like to think it's sundown and he's going in for a good long rest, and forgetfulness.

This is very beautiful.
I like the melancholy in his expression, and the graying strands of hair are a nice touch.
His face is a perfect combination of Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness. Great job!
