Artist's Comments
I recently discovered that JK released a BLack family tree a while ago, and it is doing things to my brain. I want to draw every last person on it, because I am just that infatuated with them. I never used to understand the Malfoy fen, and I thought it was because I just didn't like evil characters, but apparently when you give them dark hair I go to pieces. My only defense is that Sirius isn't evil and he's my favorite of them, but it feels weak when I have such a bizarre fixation on Bellatrix.
Anyway, the first in my (probably short-lived) Black family series is, of course, the first name on the list. The first Sirius, who was born in 1845 and died when he was only eight. There is a colored pencil version too, which some people like better. I dislike it and think the scan is awful, but if you care it's here. I smoothed the pencil version out in photoshop, rather than re-coloring it all. The border I did by hand, with a mouse. Not something I recommend doing. I know some people find borders like it online or something, and stick them on everything from art to icons, but I don't know where they find them, so I have to do everything the hard way... |

Art does not reproduce what we see. It makes us see.

I like the porcelain feel/look to the skin.
I also like the tones you used for the skin, so pale looking.
As for borders, if you were to look here on DA you could find
a lot of border brushes for download to use in photoshop if you wanted to do that.
I think your border looks wonderful, I wouldn't have guessed you made it.

I hate Bellatrix, but I could easily become in fatuated with her through your art; in the books, she seems screechy and annoying, but in your fanart, she's got grace and dignity and malice. More like a nasty witch.
